Currently, the program's context provides a method getRuntimeArguments(). These arguments are assembled, at the start of the program, from the preferences and the optional runtime arguments specified when the run was started. If the preferences are updated afterwards, then the program will not know about the change.
We are looking for something along the lines:
- an API to refresh the preferences? This would mean the program is responsible for calling that API at its own timing
Some delay in detecting a preferences change is reasonable and that we could live with up to a minute latency. Further, for now, we don't need to have the change synchronized across all instances of the flowlet.
